How the ranking works
You describe the job
In your own words, typed or spoken. No keywords, no filters to learn. "Plan a week of dinners my kids will eat" is a better query than "meal planner".
We match it to the catalog
We map your request to a task or tool type and only consider tools in matching categories. On the website, a relevance model then scores those candidates. Published tasks use curated picks; the public API uses deterministic matching. When no specialist fits, we say so and point to general assistants. Popularity is an editorial 1–100 score we set for each tool from its public reach when it enters the catalog — not live usage data. It adds 15% to the relevance score and orders browse lists. We never invent a tool that is not in the catalog.
We write the steps
Two to four steps with a prompt you can paste. The tools named in those steps are validated against the catalog; when anything looks off, you get our editorial template instead.
What is in the catalog
170+ consumer AI tools across 26 categories, each with what it is for, who it suits and what it costs. Every tool is added by hand. A tool can be removed; nothing buys its way in.

Using Agent Rerank is free and needs no account. Today no outbound tool links carry an affiliate code. If we add affiliate links, we may earn a commission if you sign up for a tool. Paid placements are labelled Sponsored wherever they appear.
Neither changes organic rank. The order you see comes from relevance and popularity, and sponsorship cannot move a tool up it. If that ever stops being true, this page changes first.
The developer side
Our developer section ranks MCP server listings using task relevance, repository activity and stars. Connection and security testing is not yet published for most servers. Recorded measurements, when available, include their dates. Unknown evidence is never counted as a pass, and we do not claim a server is security-tested unless it was graded.
